The big city represents opportunity and risk simultaneously: The realm of dreams and of neurosis; it can be a place to hide or a place to represent oneself, a playground or a devouring monster..
Virginia Garfunkel depicts the complicated structure of urbanity, the role of the city’s inhabitants, thematizing urban density, saturation and decay, the city’s construction and destruction.
